The Power of Paper Prototyping
The best way to avoid developing expensive web applications that don’t meet a user’s expectations is to get the user involved before the application is produced.
This is possible with a technique called "paper prototyping," through which users attempt to accomplish specific tasks on a paper version of the application by using their finger as a mouse and a dry erase marker as a keyboard. By observing these tests, it is easy to make adjustments by creating a new version of the paper application before the next set of users is brought in to test it. A successful paper prototype becomes the blueprint to a very successful application.
